Why Handwritten Words Still Matter

When was the last time you opened your mailbox and found something other than a bill or advertisement?
Now think back a little further.
Have you ever kept a handwritten card?
Most of us have.
Perhaps it was tucked inside your Bible, saved in a memory box, or slipped into a favorite book. Years later, the paper may have become worn, but the words still speak.

There is something beautifully personal about handwritten encouragement.
It cannot be rushed.
Someone chose the card.
Someone prayed about what to write.
Someone addressed the envelope with your name.
Someone thought you were worth the time.
That is a precious gift.
Words have power.
They can wound.
But they can also heal.
"Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul,
and health to the bones" (Proverbs 16:24).
One kind sentence can brighten a difficult week. One Scripture verse can steady a fearful heart. One thoughtful card can become a reminder that God has not forgotten His child.
That is why I still believe in greeting cards.
Not because they are old-fashioned.
Because they are timeless.
Every Encouragement Envelope includes a greeting card waiting to become someone else's blessing.
Perhaps God already knows whose mailbox it will reach.
Your words don't have to be perfect.
They simply need to be sincere.
Sometimes all a person needs to hear is, "The Lord brought you to my mind today."
Never underestimate how God can use simple words written with love.

Prayer
Lord, help me use my words to build others up. May every note I write reflect Your love and become a blessing to those who receive it. Amen.
